TEXTURING (2024)

Resin, asphalt, composite board

60x60x60

The term texturing originates from the process of digital modeling — the act of applying a “skin” onto a virtual sculpture. This operation involves mapping materials or patterns onto the surface of a 3D model. During this process, the texture window unfolds, revealing the object’s surface in a flattened view, much like unwrapping the paper of a gift.

I take the road surface as my main subject, setting it as a kind of passageway to reflect on how a flat material, once transformed into a three-dimensional object, can construct a new way of seeing.
