HAPIUNIT (2026)

HAPIUNIT is a reinterpretation of the brand name Haribo. Taking “happiness” as its point of departure, the work collects names from the Pantone color system that evoke feelings of pleasure and joy. These culturally coded emotional elements are then deconstructed and reinterpreted, while mass-produced gummy bears are transformed into the smallest units through which happiness can be quantified and consumed.

By appropriating the gummy bear as a symbol of consumer culture, the work explores how contemporary consumer society transforms emotions into a system of production, display, and consumption. It examines how feelings—originally intangible and difficult to define—gradually become standardized, circulated, and continuously consumed in the form of commodities.
