In digital operations, selecting an object is done through the act of clicking and framing with a mouse — a highlighted outline appears on the screen. I translated this digital gesture into the real world by “selecting” and “marking” found objects along the roadside through a unifying layer of color. This process becomes a physical enactment of a digital operation.
Through bodily labor, I applied color to scattered objects as if wrapping them in a new skin. The uniform color merges their distinct shapes and surrounding debris into a single visual entity. Similar to how, in digital space, one alters hue and texture from a fixed perspective, this act invites a more direct sensory encounter — a way to experience how objects relate to one another in physical space.
